Multi-scale modeling of materials with cellular microstructure
organised by Assoc. Prof. J. Nemecek
Czech Technical University in Prague, Czech Republic
and Dr. O. Jirousek
Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic
Session Aims and Scope
The session focuses on recent developments in multi-scale modeling of variety of cellular materials. Special attention will be paid to men-made cellular materials such as metal foams, ceramics, porous polymers, glasses and rubbers. Papers related to natural cellular materials animal tissues (e.g. trabecular bones), wood, cork, bamboo or coral are also welcome. Papers should be devoted (but not limited to) modeling of cell deformation, constitutive behavior, energy absorption or energy storing, simulations, development of multi-scale models, microstructure description, computer tomography observations, FEM, XFEM or mesh-less microstructural modeling, identification of material properties on several length scales, identification of deformation mechanisms (bending, buckling, plasticity and fracture), fluid-structure interactions, structural optimizations.
