Special Session Call for Papers:
Special Session: CC2015-19
Modeling, Analysis and Design of Structures Reinforced or Strengthened with FRP Composite Materials
Session Aims and Scope
The aim of this special session is to present the most recent analytical and computational modeling techniques in simulating the response of structural members reinforced or strengthened with fiber-reinforced polymer (FRP) composite materials. Special emphasis is given to new concepts and procedures of modeling, analysis and structural design of such composite structures when subjected to different types of loadings. Topics of interest include external strengthening of concrete, steel, masonry, and timber structures; strengthening using near surface mounted (NSM) FRP strips and bars; structural concrete and masonry members reinforced with FRP bars; static and dynamic analysis, fire engineering, thermal-stress analysis, blast, impact, linear and nonlinear analysis, finite element analysis, bond-slip models. Applied and theoretical research papers related to analytical and computational modeling, analysis and design of structures reinforced or strengthened with FRP composite materials are very welcome to this session.
Organiser
For specific questions regarding the scope of this session please contact the organiser:
  • Dr R. Hawileh, American University of Sharjah, United Arab Emirates, (rhaweeleh AT aus.edu)

Please note that papers that are found to fall outside the scope of this session may be considered for other sessions.

Abstract Submission
To submit abstracts for this special session, please follow the normal abstract submission procedure but please select "CC2015-S19" when asked "Is this paper part of a special session?"
