Special Session Call for Papers:
Special Session: CC2015-22
Structural Analysis of Historic Masonry Constructions: From Simplified Approaches to Advanced Numerical Simulations
Session Aims and Scope
The numerical analysis of historic and monumental masonry structures is still an open issue, involving different fields of expertise and approaches. The aim of the present Special Session is the dissemination of works in progress and recent results obtained by means of the most up-to-date mechanical research focused on masonry, with exclusive emphasis on historic structures. The aim is favoring exchange among theoreticians and practitioners active in different fields, with original contributions dealing with numerical, theoretical and simplified approaches of both single structural elements (piers, spandrels, arches and walls) and entire structures. Papers dealing with existing masonry in earthquake prone areas and technical applications on case studies are particularly welcome, as well as contributions regarding masonry strengthening, obtained with both traditional (e.g. steel bands, tie rods, etc.) and innovative (FRP strips and FRCM) techniques.
