Special Session Call for Papers:
Special Session: CC2015-23
Multi-Scale Modeling of Wood and Timber Structures
Session Aims and Scope
Modeling of wood and consequently the design of timber structures based on the knowledge of internal structure at various levels has been gaining a considerable interest. This special session is opened to papers from the field of homogenization and multi-scale modeling of timber including both theoretical and experimental approaches. We invite contributions devoted to the prediction of effective mechanical and transport properties of timber addressing both elastic and inelastic response, quantification of wood structure on various scales using both image analysis and computational micro-tomography, nanoindentation of wood, etc. Contributions devoted to the modeling of uncertainties of wood at all levels are also welcome.
For specific questions regarding the scope of this session please contact the organisers:
  • Dr J. Vorel Czech Technical University in Prague, Czech Republic, (jan.vorel AT
  • Dr K. de Proft, Universiteit Hasselt, Belgium, (kurt.deproft AT
  • Professor M. Sejnoha, Czech Technical University in Prague, Czech Republic, (sejnom AT
  • Professor J. Sejnoha, Czech Technical University in Prague, Czech Republic, (sejnoha AT

Please note that papers that are found to fall outside the scope of this session may be considered for other sessions.

Abstract Submission
To submit abstracts for this special session, please follow the normal abstract submission procedure but please select "CC2015-S23" when asked "Is this paper part of a special session?"
