Special Session Call for Papers:
Special Session: CSC2015-08
Soft Computing in Pavement Engineering
Session Aims and Scope
Soft computing, such as Fuzzy Systems, Neuro Networks, Evolutionary Computing, Probabilistic Computing etc., provides powerful tools for pavement engineers. These tools independently as well as in hybrid forms have been successfully applied to varieties of engineering problems due to their ability to admit approximate reasoning, imprecision, uncertainty and partial truth. This special session is a perfect platform to discuss the various soft computing applications in pavement engineering domain. Research papers with original and fundamental applications of soft computing are invited to deal with, but are not limited to: pavement materials modeling, pavement analysis and design, rapid interpretation of nondestructive testing results, prediction of pavement performance, porous asphalt concrete distress modeling, model parameter identification, pavement engineering inversion problems, subgrade soils characterization, and backcalculation of pavement layer thickness and moduli.
For specific questions regarding the scope of this session please contact the organisers:
  • Dr C. Plati, National Technical University of Athens, Greece (cplati AT and
  • Professor M. Losa, University of Pisa, Italy, (losa AT

Please note that papers that are found to fall outside the scope of this session may be considered for other sessions.

Abstract Submission
To submit abstracts for this special session, please follow the normal abstract submission procedure but please select "CSC2015-S08" when asked "Is this paper part of a special session?"
