Session Aims and Scope
Computational Intelligence can be applied to several fields in Structural Engineering, e.g. prediction of structural responses, reliability assessment, sensitivity analysis, structural health monitoring, computational steering, structural control, etc. This special session is focused on the presentation of original papers using Computational Intelligence in Structural Mechanics e.g. for surrogate modelling, parameter identification, uncertainty modelling and numerical analysis. Topics of particular interest include but are not limited to soft computing methods such as artificial neural networks, evolutionary computation, swarm intelligence, stochastic and non-stochastic approaches. Contributions on theoretical works in Structural Mechanics as well as practical applications are welcome.
For specific questions regarding the scope of this session please contact the organiser:
Please note that papers that are found to fall outside the scope of this session may be considered for other sessions.
To submit abstracts for this special session, please follow the normal abstract submission procedure but please select "CSC2013-S08" when asked "Is this paper part of a special session?"
