Large structural system modelling is difficult to be carried out which requires significant computing timing and resources. The first difficulty is to tackle different types of structural element of which need to be correctly modelled and closely matched to its prototype structure system. This has already been proved to be a daunting task. The second difficulty is to provide suitable models for single and/or multiple materials composition and interaction. This special session aims to attract the presentations of the recent development for the computational methods to deal with large structural system numerical analysis with focusing on its connection, contact, link, crack and separation. This also includes material properties modelling with the consideration on composition, interaction, softening and hardening behavior.
Please note that papers that are found to fall outside the scope of this session may be considered for other sessions.
