Stability, Non-Linear Behaviour and Design of Steel Structures
organised by Prof. D. Camotim
ICIST/IST, Lisbon
and Dr C. Basaglia
ICIST/IST, Lisbon
Session Aims and Scope
The objective of this Special Session is to provide a forum for the presentation and discussion of the most recent developments and future trends in the field of stability, non-linear behaviour and design of steel structures commonly used in civil engineering applications. Theoretical, numerical and experimental contributions are welcome, as well as research work aimed at improving the current steel design codes. The areas/topics to be covered by the Special Session include, among others:
  • Members (columns, beams and beam-columns) and Structural Systems (frames, trusses, towers, bridges, tubular structures, arches)
  • Thin-walled Structures (plated structures and shells)
  • Hot-Rolled, Welded and Cold-Formed Steel Structures
  • Mild Steel, Stainless Steel and High-Strength Steel
  • Analytical, Numerical and Experimental Investigations
  • Buckling, Vibration, Strength and Design
  • Static and Dynamic Loadings
  • Connections
  • Non-Linear Methods of Structural Analysis
  • Progress in Design Codes
  • Fire Structural Engineering
