This is the Twelfth Conference in the Computational Structures Technology series that commenced in 1991. Previous venues for the conference have included: Budapest, Edinburgh, Prague, Leuven, Lisbon, Gran Canaria, Athens, Valencia and Dubrovnik. The conference is concerned with the application of the latest computational technology to structural mechanics and engineering. Computational Technology encompasses both the latest hardware and software developments as well as algorithmic and theoretical techniques.

The conference is also concerned with both theoretical, mathematical and scientific developments as well as applications of established technology to new domains. The word 'structures' is interpreted in its widest sense.

The conference runs concurrently with the Ninth International Conference on Engineering Computational Technology. Participants may attend sessions from either conference.

Opening Lecture
The CST2014 Conference will be opened jointly with the ECT2014 Conference with a lecture presented by Professor K.J. Bathe of Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge MA, USA.

Conference Proceedings
The conference proceedings, which will be available on the first day of the conference, will be published by Civil-Comp Press. The papers from this conference series are archived on CTResources where all papers are allocated DOIs.

Authors may submit extended and improved versions of their papers for review and possible publication in the conference special issues of Computers & Structures (CAS) (Elsevier), Advances in Engineering Software (ADES) (Elsevier) and the International Journal of Railway Technology (IJRT) (Saxe-Coburg Publications). Papers may be submitted to the journals listed above using the specified submission procedure. The review process will decide in which journal the accepted paper will be published. The details of the submission procedures and deadlines will be provided in the printed conference programme, as issued at the registration desk during the conference.

Conference Venue
The venue for the conference is the Hotel Royal Continental****, Via Partenope 38/44, Naples 80121, Italy. The Hotel Royal Continental is close to both the seaside and city center, the historical area of Naples, the Piazza del Plebiscito, the famous Teatro San Carlo and the harbor, which leads to the Amalfi and Sorrento coasts, as well as to the islands of Capri and Ischia. The Hotel is situated 9.5km from Naples Airport.

Accommodation is available, at special room rates in the Hotel Royal Continental****, the conference hotel. These special room rates are available for conference participants provided room bookings are made following the procedure described here.
Please check with your travel agent or the Italian embassy in your country whether you require a visa to enter Italy. Please remember that it is your responsibility to obtain the visa in good time. If you require a letter of invitation, you may contact the conference organisation. However, it is more usual for embassies to request proof that you have a firm booking for accommodation.
