Coupled and Multi-Scale Methods
organised by Dr J. Kruis
Czech Technical University in Prague, Czech Republic
Session Aims and Scope
This special session is devoted to coupled and multi-scale methods. Especially in civil engineering, material or structure behaviour does not depend only on mechanical properties but also on temperature and moisture distribution. Coupled heat and moisture transport, thermo-mechanical and hydro-thermo-mechanical analyses are used for detailed description of structure behaviour. Strongly heterogeneous materials can be modelled with the help of homogenization. Homogenized material parameters of structure, which represents macro-level, are obtained from solution of micro or meso-level problems.

Contributions dealing with the following topics are welcome:

  • Coupled heat and moisture transport
  • Thermo-mechanical analysis
  • Hydro-thermo-mechanical analysis
  • Homogenization
  • Modelling of concrete or masonry
  • Implementation of coupled methods
  • Implementation of multi-scale methods
