Presentation Facilities
The presentation time for contributed papers is 12 minutes, followed by 3 minutes for questions. Presentations will only be possible using data projectors (not OHP or 35mm slides).

There are two ways to deliver your presentation at PARENG 2013:

  • Prepare a PDF or Powerpoint presentation and take it with you on a USB memory stick. Presentation PCs and projectors will be available in each room. You will have the opportunity to copy your presentation onto the presentation PC during the break immediately preceding each session. Alternatively you can run your presentation directly from the memory stick.
  • Bring your own laptop and connect it to the projector in the presentation room. But please note that the delays from connecting your laptop and setting up may shorten your presentation time.

Please note that there will be NO 35mm slide projectors and NO overhead transparency projectors. Only PC-based presentations are allowed. If you have any questions regarding these presentation facilities, please contact production AT

Internet Access
For the duration of the conference, PCs with internet access will be provided for the use by registered conference participants. These PCs can be found in a signposted location close to the registration desk. Wireless internet access will also be available. Access credentials can be obtained from the registration desk.

Travel Information
International travel to Pécs is usually via Budapest, the capital of Hungary. Pécs is a 2.5 hour train journey from Budapest. The alternatives are:

Option 1 (strongly recommended):

  • Fly to Budapest International Airport (IATA: BUD, ICAO: LHBP)
  • Use a shuttle bus transfer to travel from the airport directly to your hotel in Pécs. We recommend "Travel 4 You". A shuttle service is also provided by "Come to Hungary"
  • Please remember to book tickets for the shuttlebus at the time of booking your flights.
  • The current price for a single person travelling one way is 8900HUF (about 31 euros).
Option 2 (for the more adventurous or if you are staying in Budapest for a few days):
  • Fly to Budapest International Airport (IATA: BUD, ICAO: LHBP)
  • Take either a taxi or minibus service (BudShuttle) to Keleti Railway Station
  • Travel by intercity train to Pécs. All intercity journeys to Pécs must be pre-booked with a seat reservation. (Pre-booking is the only guarantee of obtaining a seat.) The last train for Pécs leaves Budapest at around 19.00, but please check this for your day of travel. The booking website is in Hungarian only. You can buy your ticket at the railway station BUT if the train seats are fully booked then you will not be allowed to travel.
  • From Pécs railway station take a taxi to your hotel.
  • The estimated cost of this option (one-way) is 3500HUF for shuttle, 3500HUF for the train fare and 1000HUF for the taxi from Pecs station to your hotel.
We conclude therefore that option 1 is the preferred way to travel directly to Pécs.

Warning: Pécs is pronounced similar to "Paych". It should not be pronounced "pecks", as this sounds like another city in Hungary.
