The Second International Conference on
Parallel, Distributed, Grid and Cloud Computing for Engineering
Ajaccio, Corsica, France
12-15 April 2011
Special Session PARENG2011-S05:
Coupling techniques for Multi-Scale /
Multi-Physics Applications
organised by Prof. S. Roller
German Research School for Simulation Sciences, Aachen, Germany
and Prof. M.M. Resch
Stuttgart High Performance Computing Centre, Germany
Aims and Scope
Multi-scale and multi-physics simulations have developed over the past years to an important class of applications. Nevertheless, coupling techniques are mainly developed for each individual application or class of applications. Only few generelized methods for coupling independent of the given class of applications are available. The reason currently is on the one side the different goals weak coupling vs. strong coupling, workflow vs integrated simulation, black box solver vs. source code available, low order vs. high order, and many more. The scope of this Special Session is to bring together mathematical models, computer science techniques, and application developers.

Please note that papers that are found to fall outside the scope of this session may be considered for other sessions.

To submit abstracts for this special session, please email the organisers directly at (s.roller AT or resch AT or alternatively submit your abstract directly to the Conference Editor using the abstract submission portal. If you use the portal, please do not forget to mention that your abstract is part of special session PARENG2011-S05.
