Multi-scale and multi-physics simulations have developed over the past years to an important class of applications. Nevertheless, coupling techniques are mainly developed for each individual application or class of applications. Only few generelized methods for coupling independent of the given class of applications are available. The reason currently is on the one side the different goals – weak coupling vs. strong coupling, workflow vs integrated simulation, black box solver vs. source code available, low order vs. high order, and many more. The scope of this Special Session is to bring together mathematical models, computer science techniques, and application developers.

this session may be considered for other sessions.
