The Second International Conference on
Parallel, Distributed, Grid and Cloud Computing for Engineering
Ajaccio, Corsica, France
12-15 April 2011
Special Session PARENG2011-S13:
Pattern Recognition and Data Mining with Clouds, Grids, and Wireless Sensor Networks
organised by Dr A.I. Khan
Monash University, Australia
and Anang Hudaya Muhamad Amin
Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS, Malaysia
The aim of this session is to consider datamining and pattern recognition techniques in applications leading to large data sets e.g. finite element analyiss (FEA), structural health monitoring (SHM), long-term environmental research, computational medecine, and any of the other eScience areas.
  • Distributed computing techniques such as Google/Hadoop MapReduce for large-scale datamining and pattern recognition.
  • Cluster and grid based techniques for distributed pattern recoginition and datamining.
  • Parallel computing techniques for real-time pattern recoginition.
  • Novel single-cycle learning algorithms for online pattern recoginition.
  • Event detection and target tracking with wireless sensor networks (WSN).
  • Energy efficient techniques for resource constrained devices.
  • Advances network security techniques for distributed systems such as grids, clusters, and WSN.
  • Blueprints of datamining and pattern recoginition techniques for process automation, design optimisation, and enhancing data interpretation.

Please note that papers that are found to fall outside the scope of this session may be considered for other sessions.
