Presentation Time

The presentation time for contributed papers is approximately 15 minutes, including the time for questions.

Presentation Facilities

There are three ways to deliver your presentation at CC2005 & AICC2005:

  • use overhead transparencies.
  • prepare a PDF or Powerpoint presentation and send it to the conference organisation before 15 August 2005. Laptops and projectors will be available in each presentation room and all presentations will be uploaded before the organisation team leaves for Rome.
  • bring your own laptop and connect it to the projector in the presentation room. But please note that the delays from connecting your laptop and setting up may shorten your presentation time.

If you wish to make use of the laptops provided by the conference organisation, please read the following instructions carefully:

  • The laptops will have the Windows XP (sp2) operating system. They will have Microsoft Powerpoint XP and Adobe Acrobat Reader 7.0 installed.
  • The video projectors have a resolution of 1027*768 (XGA). Please take this into account when designing your presentation.
  • To avoid incompatibilities, please use only default fonts (times new roman, arial, tahoma, etc.) or embed all fonts (see the powerpoint/acrobat help system for instructions).
  • Please make sure all media objects in your presentation are embedded and not linked.
  • If you use videos in your presentation, please check which codec was used to create the video file. We can only accept standard video codecs (e.g. Cinepak, MPEG4, Intel Indeo). Please include the codec installation program if yours is not standard. Please test your presentation on a different computer that is not part of your immediate workgroup and that does not have your specialized software installed to ensure that it works properly.
  • While image files are usually embedded in a presentation, videos are not. Please include your videos in what you send to us. Put videos in the same directory as the presentation. Do not use subdirectories.
  • Presentations must be sent to the Conference organisation beforehand. They can NOT be uploaded during the conference. If you can not send your presentation beforehand you should bring your own laptop.
  • If your presentation is smaller than 2Mb it may be emailed to conf2005@ctsolutions.uk.com
  • If your presentation is larger, you can send by courier or post to:
    CC2005 & AICC2005 Presentations
    Dun Eaglais, Station Brae
    Kippen, Stirling FK8 3DY
    United Kingdom
  • All presentations should arrive no later than 15 August 2005. We will confirm receipt of your presentation by email. We will test your presentation and check if videos and fonts are displayed correctly. If this is not the case we will inform you by email, but there may be not enough time for you to send corrected versions. Please send your presentation early if you suspect problems.
  • Be prepared for all other eventualities and bring a copy of your presentation on overhead transparencies.
If you cannot meet the deadline or you wish to make a computer presentation that is not PDF or Powerpoint, you are advised to bring your own laptop the conference. Please note that there may be delays because you will have to swap video cables. Please make sure you know how to switch your laptop into external display-mode. Your presentation time may be shortened as a result of this delay.
