Methods for the Safety Improvement in Railway Transport
Session Aims and Scope
The development of the high-speed railway, innovative approach to the new technological and materials solutions used in the railway transport and its interoperability induces needs of the closer cooperation and experiences` exchange between scientific and economic entities of the different countries.
Such approach forces conducting of the on-going researches regarding the possibility of the implementation of the new technological and organizational solutions, as well as introducing of the relevant changes in the national and international legislation what would precise the requirements for the railway sector by providing secured, reliable and efficient railway transport. The knowledge of the current and planned legal requirements proposed by the European Railway Agency (ERA) makes possible to optimize of the implementation and using of the proposed solutions directly in security systems of the railway operators (SMS) and systems being responsible for ensuring of the safety and reliability in the process of the maintenance (MMS). The effectiveness of these systems also depends on the effectiveness of the management in the rail transport as well as on using of the optimal methods of logistic activities in transport industry.
Presentation of the results of the on-going works and the discussions held in this session allow to: a) Exchange experiences in the field of the international law, regarding the latest developments relating to new technologies, elements` construction and railway vehicles; b) Discuss legislation changes to improve of the passengers` and goods` safety; c) Create the possibility of the transmission of the best practices among the participants in the field of the subject matter, and; d) Work together to maintain the dynamic development of the railway sector in Europe.
