Special Session Call for Papers:

Special Session: RW2016-S07
Railway Productivity
Session Aims and Scope

Increasing demands for improving the efficiency and competitiveness in railway process require the operation and maintenance cost reduction. It is possible to improve the railway productivity if satisfactory results that raise the level of safety, reliability and productivity in processes are obtained, contributing to reduce the overall operating costs of the railway.

This multidisciplinary session aims at bringing together researchers and experts from various fields reporting on the current state of railway research and development. The discussion should promote the interaction and collaboration among universities, research centers, railway operators and industry in order to identify problems, propose solutions and indicate directions of future research.

The Session will cover, but is not limited to, the following topics:

  • Railway Productivity
  • Six-sigma
  • Lean Manufacture
  • Process Optimization
  • Systems for increase of productivity
  • Simulations for improvement of railway process
